Be Color Brave Not Color Blind Campaign:

In this campaign, we aim to address the social issues stemming from racism that contribute to human trafficking and exploitation through a blend of comedy, burlesque, parodies, and stereotypes. We are all familiar with the stereotypes related to our cultural differences, and when they are directed at us, it often leads to anger and conflict. Sparrow International is committed to addressing these challenges and fostering community unity, which is why we launched the #BeColorBrave campaign. This initiative uses comedic parodies, burlesque, and musicals to turn stereotypes on their heads, encouraging us to laugh and celebrate our differences.

We take inspiration from the African American community’s ability to reclaim the derogatory N-word, transforming negative stereotypes into terms of endearment while sharing the stories of the victims we’ve supported. These stereotypes have caused division and alienation, ultimately leading to individuals being trapped in exploitative situations and slavery.

The essence of this comedic burlesque parody is to highlight our collective role in the problem while embracing our differences, finding joy in our societal struggles. We explore themes like the vulnerability of men to exploitation and the stigma around expressing emotions, which perpetuates oppression across various communities. We also delve into the pressures women face to conform to unrealistic standards, emphasizing the importance of secure relationships to prevent them from being pushed into sex work.

Additionally, we shed light on the experiences of many Latin immigrants who are trafficked and unfairly labeled as job thieves, when in reality, they are often working under dire conditions to repay debts incurred during their trafficking. We aim to shift the narrative from viewing them as criminals to recognizing them as victims in need of assistance.

Through this parody, we seek to illuminate these social issues with humor, music, show business, and stand-up comedy, combined with fashion and creative expression, to foster understanding and solidarity among all communities.
